Diaper Bag Necessities – 0 – 6 Months

ᴛʜᴇ ᴇssᴇɴᴛɪᴀʟs

☑️ Diapers   One for each hour you’ll be out, plus a few extra — in case of any extreme cases aka blow outs!

☑️ Wipes   I use Huggies’ Clutch n Clean. You can easily refill it with wipes you already have at hand— wipes are perfect not only for changing diapers, but also for sticky hands and dirty surfaces

☑️ Hand Sanitizer   For cleaning your hands when there’s no time nor place to wash them.

☑️ Changing Pad   Many diaper bags, such as SkipHop, come with a reusable changing pad or you can buy one separately — some parents like the disposable ones for traveling

☑️ Bibs   Cloth bib you can use it to cover your baby or as a changing pad, nursing cover, bib, shade, or burp cloth and OxoTot ’s Roll Up Bib

☑️ Change of Clothes   You never know when spit-up, drool, spills, or poop explosions will happen — don’t be caught unprepared!

☑️ Bottle   Whether it is formula or expressed breast milk if you’re bottle-feeding — we’ve used Lasinoh’s bottle ever our pediatrician recommend it till this day

☑️ Formula We use Enmafil and store it in SkipHop ’s Grab & Go Baby Storage Tower — I chose this container because I feel like it takes up less space and is also multifunctional for snacks

☑️  Snacks   For both you and your baby. Depending on the age of your child and your method of feeding, this could be a jar of Earth’s Best and a spoon, or finger foods such as Cheerios or teething biscuits — lately we’ve really been into LittleNutWorld ’s  squeezable nut butter pouches

☑️ Pacifier   (if your child uses one) or other comfort item

☑️ Emergency Information   Make sure you have the phone numbers of your child’s pediatrician programmed in your cell and health insurance cards in your wallet — you never know when an emergency may occur and it is better to be safe than sorry!

◻️ Sippy Cup for Water / Juice

◻️ Ziplock Bags   For storing soiled diapers when you don’t have anywhere to trash it, to keep clothes from getting spilt on, to store snacks for your little one

ᴛʜᴇ ᴇxᴛʀᴀs

☑️ Diaper Rash Cream   Sample sizes work best and take up less space — you can also repurpose a small container

☑️ Nail Clippers   You never know when your little one will doze off and give you the perfect opportunity to clip those tiny nails

☑️ Camera   GoPro, professional camera, cellphone — moments worthy of capturing can happen anywhere!

☑️ First-Aid Kit   Include adhesive bandage strips, Neosporin, pain reliever, and other first-aid supplies.

◻️ Nursing Cover   For breastfeeding or pumping in public; the fabric drapes cover your chest and gives more privacy than the basic blanket-over-the-shoulder — they can also be used to cover infant carseat, shopping carts, high chairs and more

◻️ Breast Pads for Nursing Mommy   Slip these in your bra to absorb breast milk leaks

◻️ Sling / Wrap   Even if you’re heading out with a stroller, you might prefer to park it and transfer your baby into a carrier if you’re headed someplace crowded

◻️ Toys, Books, Crayon & Coloring Pages   Choose toys based on where you are going and your child’s age. A toddler going to a restaurant often requires a lot more entertaining and distractions, while a 6-month-old may be happy with a rattle

ᴍᴏᴍᴍʏ ᴇssᴇɴᴛɪᴀʟs & ᴇxᴛʀᴀs

☑️ Snacks, mints, or gum — snacks are a must especially if you are breastfeeding

☑️ Bottle of water or other drink

◻️ Spare shirt in case of spit-up or a spill

◻️ Pen and paper — you may think you will not need this, but trust me… you will!
